Ohhh don’t you just love the cover of this book!!! When I saw this cover in the publisher’s list that came to work my first thought was I must have this book, then when I read the blurb the ‘tick’ when straight in the box.

This was such a great book. As I sat reading this book during my lunch break at work I felt as though I was there in Macau sitting in Grace’s cafe eating macaroon after macaroon. Each chapters title is the name of a new macaroon – torture I tell you!!

You won’t be disappointed with this book – a real good ‘chick’ read!

I loved this book! I loved all of the characters and the way each of them approached their fears.

A great ‘girlie’ book and has even made me think about doing something out of the ordinary!

I have not read a suspense/thriller book in a very long time and ohh my this was a goodie!! I seriously did not want to put this book down. The book begins as a twenty something Christine wakes up in a stranger’s bed unable to remember how she got there. She quickly learns some disturbing facts: the stranger is her husband, Ben who she can’t remember at all, she is middle aged and has forgotten most of her life, and she suffers from a rare form of amnesia where she can’t retain memories from day to day.

I highly recommend this fantastic book – read it!! lol

I can honestly say that I have NEVER read a book like this before.

The story is told by 5 year old Jack which is very different right from the beginning. His view on the world is very odd – as it would be if you have lived your whole life in an 11 x 11 foot room for all of your short  years.

Jack and his “Ma” live in Room. Most of the things in the room have their noun for their names. For example, the chair is Chair and the bed is Bed. In Room there is Wardrobe where Jack sleeps when “Old Nick” visits Ma at night.

I don’t want to give too much away about this book – especially if you would like to read it but lets just say it was a very unique and creative story. Some bits I found a little weird and about half way through it got a little hmm but I am glad I kept reading.

Sarah carefully manages every minute of her life, until one fateful day, while driving to work, she looks away from the road for one second too long. In an instant all the rapidly moving parts of her jam-packed life come to a sceeching halt. A traumatic brain injury completely erases the left side of her world. For once, Sarah must relinquish control to those around her. As she wills herself to recover, Sarah must learn that a happiness greater than all the success in the world is close within reach, if only she slows down long enough to notice”.

Fabulous reading! This was one of those books that makes you say wow – what really is important in my life?? While Sarah is recuperating she realises what really is important in her life and strenthens bonds between her husband, children and mother. I had never heard of ‘left neglect’ before and it was facinating reading more about it. Imagine suddenly everything, eveyone and every part of your body on the left is in your mind not there – just gone.

A great book not to be missed! Lisa Genova  has also written a book called Still Alice which I have heard is just as amazing. I picked this up at work yesterday & can’t wait to get reading!

Anyways, I have had a bit of an idea floating around in the my head for awhile and am thinking of making this wee blog of mine a bit of a book review blog – hence the name change!

Since becoming a librarian nearly a year ago I have been reading HEAPS of books and I thought I should share them with you out in blog land.

It’s funny I have never really worried about having a birthday and turing another year ‘younger’ but this year with my birthday fast approaching I don’t feel too happy about it. Maybe it’s because there is a ’5′ at the end of this one and it means that I am getting closer to an ’0′ birthday? I don’t know what it is but I feel kinda weird about it.

Oh well whatcha gonna do about it. As a good friend put it to me today – 30′s are great because you have so much more confidence in yourself than you had it your 20′s. You say ‘yes my butt is bigger’ but I don’t care who is looking at it as I shake in on the dance floor! lol (And then you fall off the swiss ball!!) Don’t ask!

I’m going to approach this new chapter of my life with my head held high, with a strong confidence that He has plan for me (I just wish I knew what the plan was) and that if all else fails I can get on the dance floor and shake my groove thing!

Right moving on. I’ve been scrapping up a storm – but I can’t show you anything just yet. Good things come to those who wait!

Way to much has been happening to tell you everything so I’ll just stick with the most recent and the most exciting news. I have been chosen to be on the Scrappin Patch design team! I am so super excited. I have had quite a bit of time away from scrapping due to Uni and everything else but I am ready to get back into it. I am so honoured to be working with such a talented group of ladies. Ohh I’m just so excited! lol

So, what does that mean?? I will be over here LOTS! Hopefully inspiring you with all the wonderful product that is available in the shop. It also means that I will be (hopefully, I will try my very hardest!) to keep this blog updated.
